With its wide network, It promotes communication between German and African representatives from business and government. In Germany, it is the first point of contact for business information and arranging contacts. The digital StArfrica Community Platform is the first German-African online innovation ecosystem to interactively connect startups, companies, research institutions, investors and other stakeholders. StArfrica mission is to increase the attractiveness of Germany for African start-ups as well as to sensitize and facilitate the market entry of German start-ups and companies in Africa. The project is currently implemented on a pilot basis in Rwanda and in cooperation with the University of Rwanda (UR) in Kigali. The team is based at the Institute for Scientific Entrepreneurship at the University of Koblenz as well as on-site at the UR in Kigali. In addition, StArfrica is also running an incubator on the ground in Kigali that will support and push business ideas by young Rwandans in the field of science.
